Baby Monster : 'Ultra Violence And Beethoven'

Baby Monster : 'Ultra Violence And Beethoven'

Released: Out Now!!!

Label: 50 Bones

With it's curious and contrasting name, “Ultra Violence And Beethoven” is a surprisingly accurate summation of a track that fuses a variety of different influences. Despite having a solid electronic structure, some clever instrumentation lends a grand feel, with intriguing vocals topping off a truly eclectic track.

With a robust yet pleasingly minimal drumbeat that pulses beneath the surface, the track has a great basis. Despite such strong electronica, the melody is a refreshing change, twinkling softly over the top with intricacies and subtleties maintaining the interest. It is rare that computer assisted music can be so tuneful, yet the melody is intelligent enough to achieve this. Slow fades and continual pulses create anticipation, proving effective against the continual backdrop.

Yet it is the vocals that ultimately stand out the most. With a heavily doctored yet suitably authentic tone they echo effortlessly atop the melody, reaching impressive highs whilst remaining tender but authoritative. Although nothing overly spectacular on it's own, such a unique approach offset with dynamic melodies makes the final product rather spectacular, with the delicate vocals undoubtedly anchoring it all together.

Making electronica unique is a tricky business, yet Baby Monster manage it with apparent ease. With a sound understanding of what makes good music, they implement this superbly to make “Ultra Violence And Beethoven” a stand out track.
