While Midfield General [DJ] will be mixing up leftfield pop, hip hop, cinematic epics, house, techno and soul. Also playing will be favorites, Blonde Ambition [DJ's], with their excitable gyrations and funky fresh mixes. The final few bands to show their support are Tubelord with their breakneck pop, anvil-heavy riffs and super-infectious music and Sound of Guns, a five piece Liverpudlian band playing eclectic and raw rock. Completing this year's already stellar bill of the best new talent around are Jamie Ley, King Jim and Lost on Campus. XFM's John Kennedy and BLT curator said, "It's great to see a charity reaching people with music - Macmillan's Brick Lane Takeover has very quickly established itself as the place to see some of the best up and coming bands just as they break. I've really loved working on this event as curator and I know the bands on the night will not disappoint." Headliner Eliza Doolittle said, "I'm so excited to play at this year's Brick Lane Takeover for Macmillan Cancer Support, it's a really great, very intimate setting and Brick Lane's going to be buzzing with all the amazing new talent performing." Macmillan Cancer Support will once again take over Brick Lane in East London when the second run of its new music event - the Brick Lane Takeover - will welcome 2000 music enthusiasts from 5.30pm through to the early hours. The all-dayer kicks off at 5.30pm and offers 7 hours of brilliant music from an eclectic mix of some of the best indie, electro, folk and punk rock bands around. One wristband will give fans access to live music from a host of established acts, across East London's finest venues - 93 Feet East, Vibe Bar, Café 1001, The Brickhouse, Rough Trade, Spitalfields Market and Cargo. Bands and venues have come together for Macmillan and waived fees to enable this event to happen. Goldheart Assembly commented, "Love Macmillan, love Brick Lane - we can't wait to perform for such an important cause that affects so many of us." Spitalfields will host live music during lunch time starting at 12.30pm and activities throughout the day including free Benefit 'Brick Lane Makeover's', delicious cake stalls and a hog roast.
