2009 female sensation Florence Welch has the music industry almost at her feet after the year that she has pretty much claimed as her own in becoming a platinum selling artist and garnering fans everywhere in a unique sequin embellished flourish.
Likewise The XX have become a name muttered with a knowing exclamation that they too will be destined for great success. Well, the debut LP ‘XX’ is over and above triumphant in all its delicate shoegazing splendour, proving that hype can occasionallty be justified and giving us more to think about rather than the 80’s.
But what happens when both Florence and The XX meet in a remixing collaboration that takes on Flo’s cover of ‘You've Got The Love’, gives it an XX vocal makeover and a driving 2-step influence and gets it out to the world wide web for everyone to enjoy absolutely gratis??? Hell something that instigates a tidal wave of differing opinions, both of the love kind and the hate kind, and something that gives us more of an insight into what other accomplishments The XX are capable of achieving.
