Twin Atlantic : ‘You're Turning Into John Wayne’

Twin Atlantic : ‘You're Turning Into John Wayne’

Released: Out Now!!!

Label: Red Bull Records

Although unlikely to redefine the world, the latest offering from Scottish four piece Twin Atlantic proves to be a catchy, quirky number that will undoubtedly linger in the memory for a long while after.

With as strong a Glaswegian accent as you're likely to find in the modern music scene, vocalist Sam McTrusty caresses a surprisingly delicate vocal melody over epic guitars and sturdy drums with impassioned verve, allowing some cleverly constructed riffs to steal focus when necessary.

Bristling with Powerpop and Alternative influences abound, the track's dreamy tone never fails to captivate whilst possessing enough punch to maintain interest. With intriguing lyrics McTrusty also manages to inject a streak of individuality, preventing it from becoming yet another throw away anthem. By dressing serious issues in a comic guise the band avoid the pitfall of taking themselves too seriously, modestly letting their amusing mantra do the subtle talking.

By avoiding cliches, Twin Atlantic manage to make a success out of a potentially tricky song, accentuating their individuality in a convincing way. With mini album “Vivarium” soon to be released, expect to see more of them very soon.
